Last Saturday I did a pretty intense mountain bike ride on the 157 trail. Here are a few shots I took with my iphone. I always take my real camera on these rides, but this time I decided to just ride and I am sorely regretting it. The views were amazing as this storm rolled over the mountains with the evening sun back lighting the scene. Taking these images with my iphone would have been like trying to ride these trails with a bmx bike. Just doesn't do justice to what I saw, but none the less, at least I have something to remember this ride by.

Pheasant Hunt shoot!

Pheasant hunting is always a fun time. Here are a few images from a pheasant hunting shoot I did. My goal with this shoot was to capture images that will get hunters excited for fall and all the fun that comes with being outdoors in the fall hunting season. A few more duck hunt images

I've finished doing some post work on some more duck hunt images. I also noticed that I did some bad editing on the image of the dad showing the duck to his son. The image in this posting is much better than the one in the previous posting because they are closer together and the story is told better because the duck is more visible. I understand that to many of you, perhaps it's better not to see the poor dead duck...sorry, after all it is a hunting shoot.

Finally did the duck hunting shoot!

Now I do realize that almost not a single person that looks at this posting cares or knows much about duck hunting, so instead of making this a class on duck hunting I'll just let you enjoy the images for what they are. Finding a group of duck hunters that actually want to take time out of their busy hunting schedules and actually do a shoot with me was almost impossible. I can understand this because I also try to go every free minute I get. There were several hunters that seemed to just disappear during pre-production of this shoot. Every time I went out myself, I would talk to hunters and see if they would be interested in doing the shoot. Every single one of those contacts fell through. The months went by and our warm weather was slipping away. I finally met these hunters on the boat launch a couple of weeks ago and they seemed pretty interested. It seemed like it was the next morning that the lake was frozen over. That means no shoot until spring. I sat in my office depressed because so much work had gone to waste. Then the thought came to my mind that there was a place on the lake where a river flowed in, That flowing water would keep a certain area from freezing. I jumped into the truck and drove to the spot. Just as I hoped, there was open water. Filled with excitement, I called the hunters that I had previously met. Luckily, they were kind enough to do the shoot the next day. I knew that it had to be done that next day because it was very cold and any more time would allow my location to freeze up. The next morning I went out to prepare the shoot and the lake had frozen from the shore to about 200 yards out. I spent 4 hours breaking ice and moving it off the shore. My back is still sore, but the shoot went great, and the hunters were super nice and great to work with. Here's just a few of my favorite images from the shoot.

Fly Fishing Shoot

This is a combination of two fly fishing shoots. The first image was shot in September and the others were shot in October. I loved the layer of frost that was covering the all the grass on the ground on the day two shoot.

Salt Flats Shoot

Right around the end of May we did a 3-day shoot at the Salt Flats. It was right before it started getting hot, in fact the temps went from a high of 65 on day one to a high of about 85 on day three. We snuck that shoot in by the skin or our teeth. In case you haven't noticed, I hate shooting in the heat...I hate the heat in general.

Hiking/outdoor shoot

Here's some images from my favorite location of the summer. We did three shoots there between July 21st and August 30th. Sorry for not posting for so stinking long. I promise to post more often in case there is anybody interested. BTW, the colors in these images is destroyed because of saving them for the web. Sorry you're not getting to see the real colors!
